In the last month my married life has taken quite a turn. Life should never be boring but there is such a thing as too much excitement and that can lead to complications. I sat in the back of Frankie s Pathfinder with a coat wrapped tightly around me against the chill while they sat up front. Brianna had not put anything else on and probably would have been freezing if she weren t stuck to Frankie. I m not sure how he kept his attention on the road.
The party was thrown by one of Frankie clients a wealthy man he drove for when he was in town. The house in one of the wealthier suburbs was huge and had a wrought iron gate we had to wait at until we were buzzed through. Frankie parked beside another three dozen cars all neatly in a row. Even before we reached the heavy oak front door I could hear music thumping from inside.
